We believe that the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts. Therefore, we believe that the Bible is the only sufficient, and authoritative rule in all matters of conscience, faith and conduct.
We believe in one God, creator of all, sovereign, eternal, infinite and unchanging, existing in three equal persons, God the Father, the Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Father reigns as Sovereign with providential care over all of life and history in His created universe; hears and answers the prayers of His people, sent His Son to accomplish their redemption.
We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, was born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life. We believe in his substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, triumphant ascension, and personal return. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the absolute and essential deity and personality of the Holy Spirit who convinces all sin, of righteousness and of judgement; who regenerates, sanctifies, and comforts those who believe in Jesus Christ. He empowers, fills and imparts spiritual gifts to all who yield to him.
The Creator of all things
We believe that God created the universe and everything in it by His word.
We believe that Satan is a person; the originator of sin, the unholy god of this world and archenemy of God and man.
We believe that man was divinely created in the image of God; that he was tempted by Satan, and fell from his original holiness and righteousness whereby his posterity inherited a nature wholly corrupt and opposed to God and his law. As a result, mankind is under condemnation, becoming guilty before God, resulting in total depravity. Men are now sinners by nature and by choice and are therefore deserving of eternal punishment.
We believe that salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Man is incapable of receiving the things of God apart from the work of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that God created marriage to be between one man and one woman as determined at birth, ordained by God, who enter into covenant relationship, compliment one another and serve one another. We reject any attempt to redefine marriage as a union between people of the same sex or between more then one man and one woman.
We believe in the personal, bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ; in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed and in the judgement and conscious punishment of the wicked.
The Local Church
We believe that the church is a community of believers who have professed Jesus Christ as Saviour and voluntarily associate to grow in their faith through the proclamation of God’s word and worship, observance of the ordinances of the church, baptism of believers, and propagation of the faith. We be the Church is an independent body, whose members exercise their God-given gifts for edification of believers and propagation of their faith under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Its officers are Elders, Pastors and Ministry Leaders.
We believe that there are only two ordinances for the church regularly observed in the New Testament:
- Baptism, which is the immersion of the believer in water in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, whereby he/she demonstrates Christ’s commands identifies with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.
- The Lord’s Supper, which is the memorial wherein the believer partakes of the two elements, bread and wine, which symbolize the Lord’s body and shed blood, thereby proclaiming His death until He comes.
The Church and State
We believe in the entire separation of church and state.
We believe in religious liberty; that every man has the right to practice and propagate his beliefs without harassment or interference. However, members of this local church are restricted to propagate their faith within the parameters of the Statement of Faith.
The Lord’s Day
We believe that the first day of the week is the Lord’s Day and that, in a special sense, it is a divinely appointed day for worship and spiritual exercise.
We believe that civil government is of divine appointment for the interest and good order of society; that the legal system is to be prayed for, and conscientiously honoured, except only in the things that are opposed to the will of our Lord, Jesus Christ as contained in the Scripture.
